Attending an ACADA hands-on workshop at International Cake Show Australia is a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive hands-on training with some of the world's best. ACADA Members book at a discounted rate, however EVERYONE is welcome.

Many of our workshop students wait all year for the workshop program to be released. Once bookings open they book very early to guarantee their place. They travel from all parts of Australia and from overseas to attend. Many are regulars who attend every year. One day and two day workshops and masterclasses are available. They open on Thursday (the day before the show opens) and run daily over four days.

BOOK EARLY

Due to their popularity we strongly recommend if you plan to do a workshop, to book early,
as spots fill quickly. All workshop students doing full day or two day workshops receive a complimentary 3 day show pass (valued at $75). If you are attending workshops every day, or aren't  planning to revisit on other days, what a lovely gift for a friend or buddy - it's transferrable

Below is a sneak peak of some of the new workshops, we are adding and opening workshops progressively.  If you book a workshop and decide you'd prefer to change, it's quite an easy process to transfer online, providing spots are still available.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

You have the option to pay in full, or to pay a 50% deposit with the remainder payable over 3 monthly instalments. The payment plan option ceases on 28th February, 2026. Bookings and any fees remaining payable must then be paid in full.
To book via the payment option, select "INVOICE" at the checkout. The payment details for your 50% deposit will be provided on your invoice. Please note no spots are reserved until your full deposit is received.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS

The private workshops at International Cake Show Australia have been chosen to provide you with a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from some of the world's most talented cake and cookie artists. These classes are hands-on and taught in the private workshop area at the show. Each class is limited in numbers to ensure you receive a quality learning experience.

All workshops are broken down and taught step by step. This means even those with basic or no experience can easily complete most workshops. Please look at the class details as they will show you the techniques you will be taught.

If you are a beginner you may struggle to keep up in classes designed for those with intermediate or advanced skills, so please keep this in mind when selecting your workshops. Any workshop that says suitable for beginners will be perfect for you.

Limited class numbers and class hours

Every workshop has limited numbers to ensure the very best tuition possible. The times given are guidelines. We understand all students work at different speeds, however in a workshop situation it's important you try to keep up. If you do, you'll go home with a finished project. If not, you will have learned the required skills and have some homework to complete. We cannot guarantee all classes will finish on time.

What's included:

All tools, materials and equipment are provided, however they are to be returned at the end of your class so they can be used for the following classes. Tea and coffee are provided.  All full day and two day workshop tickets include a complimentary 3 day pass to the show, it's valued at $75. At the end of your workshop you'll be super proud of what you've created. We'll provide you with a box, so you can take your project home to impress your friends and family.

What do I need to bring:

You need to bring an apron, a bottle of water if needed, a light lunch and a smile. Every workshop is packed full of invaluable skills, techniques and tips you'll use for many years to come, they're also lots of fun. Why not consider inviting your bestie to come share in your funfilled learning experience.

What if I book then decide I'd prefer to transfer to a different workshop? Can I do that?

Yes of course you can, providing there are places available and your new class is of a similar value. If not you'll need to pay the difference. You are able to swap classes up until 14 days prior to the show.
You are in full control. You can easily transfer from one class to another, online yourself. To do this simply click into your ticket link. If it won't allow you to transfer it's because the new class you wantto transfer into, is full.

What happens if there are insufficient numbers to make my workshop viable?

In the event there aren't sufficient student numbers to make the class economically viable, or the teacher is unable to make it due to being unwell we will provide you with as much notice as possible and provide you with the choice of an immediate 100% refund or option to transfer into another workshop, the choice is yours!

What if I am sick on the day, or can't make it, am I able to get a refund?

In the event you aren't able to make it you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else. We begin preparations for the workshops months before the show, therefore refunds unfortuantely aren't available. If you need to transfer your ticket to someone else, please ensure you pop online through your ticket link, and change the name. If you could also please contact us to let us know, so we can welcome the new participant.

Are children able to attend the workshops?

Unfortunately children under 16 years of age are not permitted to attend workshops. Children 16 years of age (and older) are permitted to attend providing a full price ticket has been purchased and they are accompanied at all times by an adult who has also purchased a workshop ticket. Unfortunately as workshops have limited places, no discounts are offered for children 16 years of age or older.

Are Pets Allowed?

Unfortunately in order to abide by Food Safety laws, no pets are allowed in any area at the show (including workshop areas) where food activities are involved, this includes the cafes, make and take classes, and the workshop areas

I'm attending workshops on multiple days. The complimentary three day pass isn't of any use to me, can I receive a discount instead?

The show is run as a not for profit event, including the workshops. We do not generate a profit from any of the show activities. We understand doing workshops can be expensive for you, so wanted to find a way we could value add for you, without incurring further costs for us. The complimentary three day pass is a little way we could do this. In the event you don't need it, unfortunately it's not refundable. However in the event you are doing workshops on multiple days, or are unable to attend the show on other days, your 3 day pass is transferrable. You are very welcome to give it to a relative or your bestie.

Are there any special conditions that apply if we attend workshops on Thursday?

Thusday is the day before the show officially opens. There is a lot of activity happening on this day. It's the day our vendors and pop up shops bump in, therefore from a safety perspective it's considered a build day. We are required to abide by very strict legislated safety standards from 7am - 5pm on Thursday, and also on Sunday from 5pm. This means that anyone within the show during these times must wear enclosed shoes and a high visability safety jumper or vest. This isn't required while you are inside the workshop area.

One of our staff will meet you at the show entrance when you arrive and escort you and your fellow students to the workshop area. Students are not permitted to visit any other area of the show on Thursday, including the competiton area. There will be safety vests available for your use, in the event you need to use restrooms. Please leave them in the area you found them when you return, so they are available for other students, in the event they need to use them.

Thursday is also competition judging day. The competition area will be closed off as the judges and stewards move between the entries. The entries are spread out during this period. When you return to the show on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, the competiton area will look very different.
