Workshop Description:

If you've ever looked at an extraordinary cake and wondered, "How did they do that?", this is the workshop for you.

Join internationally renowned cake artist Camilo Murcia from By.Aletoso Luxury Cakes for an unforgettable hands-on masterclass where creativity meets technical excellence.
Camilo has earned a worldwide reputation for his breathtaking buttercream creations, but what many people don't realise is that his talent extends far beyond buttercream. He thrives on challenging conventional cake decorating, constantly exploring new materials, new techniques and new ways of creating cakes that surprise, inspire and completely redefine what's possible.

His philosophy is simple...The medium should never limit the imagination.

Whether he's working with buttercream, fondant, ganache, wafer paper or edible art, Camilo pushes every material beyond what most decorators believe is possible.

That's exactly what makes the T-Cakesaurus Fondant Techniques Masterclass such a special learning opportunity. This isn't simply about covering a cake in fondant. It's about learning the professional techniques that transform an ordinary cake into an extraordinary showpiece.

Throughout this fun, hands-on workshop, Camilo shares the same methods and innovative techniques he uses to create his internationally acclaimed cakes, giving you practical skills that can be applied to countless future projects.

During this hands-on workshop you'll learn how to:

  • Create the perfect ganache for covering cakes with fondant.
  • Correctly stack and prepare a round cake using a professional pre-crumb coat.
  • Cover cakes flawlessly with ganache.
  • Achieve beautifully sharp, clean edges every time.
  • Create incredibly realistic dinosaur skin textures in fondant.
  • Professionally wrap sugar paste (fondant) over cakes.
  • Colour fondant to achieve realistic, multi-tonal effects.
  • Create beautiful three-dimensional flowers using palette knives.
  • Design realistic foliage using wafer paper.
  • Create edible fondant figures using pre-made chocolate elements.
  • Discover countless professional tips that will instantly improve your cake decorating.
  • Learn how Camilo designs and creates his own laser-cut stencils, toppers and decorative elements to expand your creative possibilities. He's going to teach you how he does this!

Why you'll love this workshop

This class is about far more than creating one spectacular dinosaur cake.
It's about learning the professional finishing techniques that separate good cakes from exceptional ones.

You'll leave with a deeper understanding of cake construction, sharper finishing skills, greater confidence working with fondant, and a toolkit of innovative techniques that can be adapted to birthday cakes, wedding cakes, celebration cakes and competition pieces alike.

Whether you create cakes as a hobby, own a cake business, or simply love learning from the world's best, you'll walk away inspired to push your own creativity further than ever before.

Is there a payment plan available?

Yes. You have the choice of paying in full at the time of your booking, or alternately we can organise an interest free payment plan for you. We understand many of our students want to book multiple classes and it can be expensive to pay for them all at once. If you wish to pay via a payment plan, when checking out please select the "Invoice" option. We will then contact you to discuss suitable payment instalments, then invoice you. A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remainder you can pay in monthly instalments. Please note full payment must be paid no later than one month before your first workshop.

What if I book a class then see something else I prefer, can I transfer?

Yes of course you can, providing there are places available and your new class is of a similar value. If not you'll need to pay the difference. You are able to swap classes up until 14 days prior to the show.

What if I can't make it, am I able to get a refund?

In the event there aren't sufficient student numbers to make the class economically viable, or the teacher is unable to make it due to being unwell we will provide you with as much notice as possible and provide you with the choice of an immediate 100% refund or option to transfer into another workshop, the choice is yours! In the event you aren't able to make it you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else. We begin preparations for the workshops months before the show, therefore refunds unfortuantely aren't available. If you need to transfer your ticket to someone else, please ensure you contact us to let us know, so we can welcome them.
