DESCRIPTION:
In this two-day hands-on cookie decorating course, Julia will guide students step by step through the decorating and assembly of two of her most popular 3-D projects: a fancy sugar bowl and a holiday ornament, which can be tailored to any season. On Day One, Julia will demonstrate how the more unusual contoured, embossed, and molded cookie

DESCRIPTION:
In this two-day hands-on cookie decorating course, Julia will guide students step by step through the decorating and assembly of two of her most popular 3-D projects: a fancy sugar bowl and a holiday ornament, which can be tailored to any season. On Day One, Julia will demonstrate how the more unusual contoured, embossed, and molded cookie
pieces are shaped and baked. Students will shape a few smaller pieces to gain experience with these methods, but will spend most of the first day icing already-baked pieces and making embellishments (mini roses and royal icing transfers) in preparation for more detailed decorating work and assembly on Day Two.

TECHNIQUES COVERED:
Embossed cookies, contoured cookies, molded cookies, outlining and flooding, dipping,
spraying/airbrushing, sponging, royal icing roses, royal icing transfers, stenciling with edible paper, line
and dot work on contoured surfaces, modeling chocolate ribbons, and 3-D stacked and sandwiched
assembly.
WHAT YOU'LL TAKE HOME:
2 elaborately decorated 3-D cookies including: 1 ornament (the iced and stenciled version) and 1 fancy
sugar bowl. Designs will closely follow those depicted.
PREREQUISITE: 2-D cookie decorating experience is highly recommended; no 3-D decorating experience is necessary.
INCLUSIONS: Ticket price includes 3 day International Cake Show Australia pass valued at $70. All tools, equipment,
materials tea and coffee are provided. Please bring a light lunch, an apron and bottle of water if
required. At the end of the class you will be provided with a cake box to transport your beautiful work
home to impress your friends and family.
