WHY JOIN ACADA?
The Australian Cake Artists & Decorators Association Inc. (ACADA) is the professional industry body and a not for profit industry Association for Australia's cake, sugarart and cookie decorating industry. ACADA's sole purpose is to help our members develop and grow. Regardless of whether you are a hobby baker/decorator operating a part time business from home or a high profile cake artist there is an ACADA membership category to suit you.
There are many benefits to joining ACADA. However our most important role is encouraging you and providing you with the resources and networks to help you grow. As Australia's peak industry body, as well as an industry and community based association it's ACADA's responsibility to see every level of our industry grow. If our commercial members and partners grow, so does everyone working within our industry. We all benefit.

HANDS-ON TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES WITH WORLD CLASS CAKE & COOKIE ARTISTS Each year ACADA organises approximately 15-20 hands on workshops. These are taught by high profile Australian and International cake and cookie artists, and also by our high profile professional members. Rarely do Australian decorators have the opportunity to gain cost effective training with people at this level |
THE ULTIMATE AUSTRALIAN CAKE DECORATING COMPETITION In May each year ACADA hosts the Ultimate Australian Cake Decorating Competition. Competitors travel from every Australian state, New Zealand and from 21 countries around the world to compete. It's a competition very different from any other. It's designed to encourage you, to help you grow and to help raise your profile. Decorators who have initially entered as beginners with very little experience, are now multi-award winners and recognised world-wide today. In the lead up to the competition ACADA stewards and judges provide free training so entrants know what judges look for. There's also a very valuable ACADA Facebook Competition Q&A page. Worried your work isn't of a high enough standard? DON'T BE! We all have to start somewhere. Competitions are where you stretch your boundaries, learn and grow. Every entrant is applauded and rewarded. In addition to more than $10,000 prize money every competitor receives a Gold, Silver, Bronze or an encouragement certificate as well as a free 3 day pass to International Cake Show Australia. |
THE ACADA AUSTRALASIAN CAKE OSCAR AWARDS As an ACADA Member you'll be kept abreast of the ACADA Australasian Cake Oscar Awards and be invited to nominate. These are Australia's ONLY industry based awards and the most coveted within Australasia. As an ACADA member, you'll also be eligible for discounted tickets to the Gala Awards Dinner which is held to coincide with International Cake Show Australia each May. Attending this event is a once in a lifetime experience. The "whose who" of our industry attends. If you want to mingle, have fun and party with celebrity chefs and cake and cookie royalty, you need to write this event in indelible ink into your diary. Tickets sell out extremely quickly every year. ACADA members can pre book and are given priority. |
ACCESS TO THE ACADA MAGAZINE Published on-line annually and emailed to members, the ACADA magazine is full of the latest trends, news and resources. High profile celebrity chefs, cake, cookie artists and professional ACADA members share their favourite recipes and tutorials. The magazine includes information about what's happening in our industry, what members are doing, must have cutting edge equipment and products, and always includes amazing specials (and sometimes freebies) offered by our retail partners. The magazine isn't full of advertising, its a free magazine designed to promote and add value to our members. |
RAISE YOUR PROFILE - MEMBER SOCIAL MEDIA SPOTLIGHTS & MEMBER DIRECTORY ACADA regularly spotlights it's members' stories and/or work on ACADA's social media pages. This is the ideal way to raise your profile and to inspire others. If you'd like to be included in our member spotlights or to feature in ACADA's Decorators Directory (being launched soon) you'll be able to provide us with the information we'll need when you complete your on-line membership application below. WANT THE WORLD'S ATTENTION? INTERNATIONAL CAKE SHOW AUSTRALIA International Cake Show Australia (hosted by ACADA) attracts thousands of visitors each year and is a part of the international cake show calendar. Not only do people travel from all parts of the world to visit, the whose who of the international sugar world watch this event closely. We get thousands of requests each year from international teachers wanting to teach at the show. We love involving our members. If you get an invitation to demonstrate or teach jump at the opportunity. Many of our demonstrators, teachers and competition winners have received invitations to teach or demonstrate internationally, including at Cake International (the largest cake show in the world). Did you know that International Cake Show Australia is owned entirely by ACADA's members. Not keen to be in the spotlight? Not a worry, still write the date of this event into your diary. There are more than 100 free demonstrations at the show each year, there's no better value learning opportunity. |
PREMIUM LOCATION FOR VENDOR STANDS AT INTERNATIONAL CAKE SHOW AUSTRALIA Showcase your business to the public. Sell your products to thousands of sweet loving visitors who attend the show each year. Members receive premium location priority and the opportunity to secure a limited number of half price vendor stands in Sweet Street at the show each year. Vendor stands book out very quickly, so if you're interested in a stand make sure you reserve your stand early. |

- Full or part time cake or cookie decorators, bakers, sweet makers and chocolatiers who sell their products to an on-seller such as a retailer, shop, restaurant or cafe, rather than selling exclusively to the public.
- Full time professional cake or cookie artists who teach within Australia or overseas as a career
- Educators and authors
CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP
Cost: $350 per year (plus GST) - Fully Tax Deductible

MEMBERSHIP PERIOD?
All membership subscriptions fall due for renewal on 31st December each year. Two weeks prior to your renewal date you will receive an email reminder that your membership subscription fees are due to renew.
The full yearly membership subscription is payable regardless of the date you join. There are no half yearly or pro rata membership options available.
Membership can be cancelled or changed to a different membership level at any time prior to the renewal date. After joining and well prior to your membership renewal date, you will be given access to your personal membership portal where you can personally log into your account to cancel or change your membership. You remain in control at all times.
