About the Competion
Congratulations to all the 2026 ICSA Competitors. Whether you won a prize or not, we're incredibly proud of what you've achieved. International Cake Show Australia is designed so you don't compete against others, it's about competing against your self, and improving your own score each year.
How the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners are Selected
In line with major international cake decorating competitions and to encourage you to truly challenge yourself, to qualify for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize, the winner must have achieved
the minimum scores required to win Gold, Silver and/or Bronze Certificates
In order to ensure the credibility of our competition and to ensure it remains at world standard this was required to ensure every prize recipient was truly worthy of their award. In some shows there have been scenarios where, in a class with only one or two entries, 1st and 2nd prizes were automatically awarded regardless of the quality of the work involved. This is not acceptable, nor will it encourage you to improve or raise the standard of your work. The new system has been designed to encourage you to continually improve and to help you grow
Every prize winner should be incredibly proud knowing that their work has been recognised as being of a very high standard.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Certificates are only awarded if you achieve the following scores:
Gold Certificates - Score required 85% - 100%
Silver Certificates - Score required 75% - 84%
Bronze Certificates - Score required 65% - 74%
Merit Certificates (if awarded) - Score required 50% - 74%
Participation Certificates (if awarded) - 49 and below
If you received a gold, silver or bronze certificate congratulations! We applaud you!
If not, we're here to rally you on, to encourage you and to provide you with the skills and training to ensure next year you will receive a much higher score. Stay tuned to the ACADA website and socials. We'll be announcing our new PME & Competition Training Classes soon
