 We're busy organising more workshops for the rest of the year. ACADA work hard to bring the world's leading teachers to Australia to share their skills with you. Huge New Sugar Features

BATTLE OF THE SUGAR GIANTS
​2026 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST ARE OPEN!

No where else in Australasia are young home based cake decorators given this type of opportunity. ACADA and International Cake Show Australia are designed to help you grow and to give you exposure. We've helped catapult so many young decorators careers, onto the world stage.  This area of the cake show is designed to give you the opportunity to really stretch your boundaries and to give you not only national, but global exposure. It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase your extreme caking skills. Think TV shows like "Cake Boss", THINK BIG!
The minimum size of these sugar exhibits is 3m x 3m. 

The Battle of the Sugar Giants is a special category in the Ultimate Australian Cake Decorating Competition at the show. The exhibits are made by the contestants (usually ACADA members) in their homes and transported from all parts of Australia (or around the world) to the show. 

Interesting Facts: 

​There is so much interest in competing in the Battle of the Sugar Giants each year, the official registration period is limited to 2 weeks!

Competitors register their official expressions of interest long before the competition schedule is even written.

In 2025 entries were limited to six.

​We've already received international applications for 2026. The theme choice is entirely the contestants. Usually the themes are novelty, however they could even choose a giant wedding cake! The winner is chosen by public vote at the show.

Welcome to ACADA's GLOBAL ON-LINE SUGAR ART COLLABORATION – THE 100 ACRE WOOD Sugar Artist ONLINE Collaboration, is hosted by International Cake Show Australia and ACADA. It's open to all cake and cookie artists and decorators regardless of your skill level or where in the world you live.

The 100 Acre Wood is the forest from A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh Stories. We want to celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day 2026 with a wonderful sugar art collaboration. Winnie the Pooh Day is the 18th of January, and is a tribute to A.A. Milne on his birthday. 2026 also marks 100 years since the first Winnie the Pooh book was published.

WHO SHOULD JOIN:
We're all at different parts of our sugar journey, some are more experienced than others. This collaboration is designed to suit EVERYONE regardless of where in the world they live or their experience levels. If you are at the beginning of your journey and see other sugar artists post mind blowing creations, DON'T THINK you aren't good enough. YOU ARE! Be inspired, use their creativity to drive your own passion. Perfection takes practice. There is no better way to be inspired, learn and to ignite your creativity, than by participating in Sugar Art Collaborations, just like this.


The deadline for the submission is the 4th Jan 2026 with the reveal on 18th Jan 2026.

We request you not to share your piece before the reveal. The main objective is to stretch your boundaries, be creative and to have fun.

  • High resolution photos of your piece taken at different angles (at least 3-4 photos of the piece including close ups), taken with a white or black background. Your main photo should be sent with and without logos, just in case magazines need the pieces to be featured. All other photos can be watermarked.

Together we'll be creating an ENCHANTED GARDEN where the botanically correct and mystical world unite. You can create a full story, or a single creation. Some will prefer only to make botanically correct or whimsical flowers, others will prefer to make fairies or mystical creatures, others will be so excited they will do both! There are endless creative opportunities. Now it's time to let your imagination run wild, join and create something so magical it will make everyone stare in awe and squeal with delight.

  • Every exhibit will include the artists photo, name, business name (if they have one) and location.
  • Behind the scenes process shots to reveal technique and inspirations.
  • An exhibition poster featuring all participants' collaboration badge. It includes their photo, name and location.
  • Exhibit will be viewed by tens of thousands of visitors and the huge number of Australian and global media who visit the show.
  • Collab presentation submission to global sugar art and collaboration magazines.
  • Participation Certificate

ONLINE COLLAB SHOWCASE:
  • A virtual gallery where each artist's piece is displayed with their inspiration story
  • A video montage showcasing close-ups of the sugar details, set to whimsical music
  • Collab presentation submission to global sugar art and collaboration magazines.
  • An exhibition poster featuring all participants' collaboration badge. It includes their photo, name and location.
  • Participation Certificate

ONLINE SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
5pm Thursday 30th April, 2026 (AEST)

WHAT THIS COLLAB IS ABOUT:
Ladies & Gentlemen, Madame's and Monsieur's, Sugar Artists from around the world you are invited to participate in a nostalgic journey through a vintage country fair. It will be a most marvellous fair, filled with enchantment and delight.

Roll up, roll up! Wanderers, dreamers and seekers of joy - you are invited to join LA FETE FANTASTIQUE, where whimsy walks hand-in-hand with wonder!

Step beneath the fluttering bunting, where the air is sweet with sugared almonds and fairy floss and the sound of the calliope dances on the breeze. Let your head twirl with the carousel, and your laughter rise like ribbons into the dusk-lit sky.

Where will you stop first? What will you create? The Lighthouse Helter-Skelter, the Ring Toss, or a spin on the Carousel? Will you chance your luck at the ducks-in-row, bob for apples, or pop a ball into the clowns' mouths. Can you see those darling toys begging to be won?

Perhaps, if you are daring enough, you may buy a ticket to see the Strong Man, or the Bearded Lady, or head to the dizzying heights o the Ferris Wheel, or perhaps a stroll past the Kissing Booth.

As night falls and the twinkling lights of the fairground grow brighter you may wish to indulge in purchasing a kewpie doll or plastic windmill on a stick to take home as a memory

Each year at International Cake Show Australia, ACADA invites three of the worlds leading cake sculptors to Australia to compete against Australia's best in the 2-day International Cake Off Challenge. This is a very serious competition, over two intensive days they are competing for the world extreme caking title, live on the superstar stage infront of the judges and audience! These cake artists are considered to be the world's best, they are incredibly talented. 

The International Cake Off Challenge is designed to give Australia's best and emerging top talent the opportunity to compete against their interantional cake idols. To showcase their ability and talent worldwide. Rarely do the Australian teams believe they will win. When they start the challenge they are incredibly nervous and starstruck! Well we're here to tell you, Australia has serious talent. Never ever lose sight of your dreams, believe in yourself because

​ABOUT THE MARQUEE

The Haute Couture Marquee is exquisite. Each year it displays the gorgeous creations of Australasia's top eight haute couture wedding cake designers. They are competing for the title of
​"ACADA Australasian Haute Couture Wedding Cake Designer of the Year".

They've been set a challenge to create a haute couture wedding cake a minimum of 1 metre tall that meets their clients brief. ​
THE BRIEF
Create a haute couture wedding cake that makes a statement and fits within their Dubai based "A List" celebrity brid and grooms brief. Their clients are organising a spectacular weding reception in a majestic French chateau which is romantic, ornate and screams grandeur! They love Easter and want to incorporate it into their theme. They love flowers and everything Easter brings, so think an Easter Wonderland theme would be perfect. Imagine whites or pretty soft pastels. They mention the venue will be filled with flowers. They want their cake to be the hero, however it must compliment the theme. 250 guests are invited.

Australasian Cake Oscar Awards

You're Invited to Join Sugar Royalty

This is the night the entire baking, cake anmd cookie decorating industry can't wait for each year. On this night we announce the Cake Oscar winners, celebrate and appaude the work of the best of the very best.  Everyone who is anyone attends. The black tie gala dinner is filled wall to wall with global sugar heroes, celebrity chefs and bakers and indsutry leaders. Most cake and cookie decorators are the sole operator in their business. On this night they let their hair down, come together to network, get to know each other and to party. Everyone is invited. Stay tuned. Nominations for the 2026 Cake Oscar Awards will be launching soon!
