You've worked had now it's time to reap the benefits.

things you need to know about dropping off your entry!​

Parking

When you arrive please park your vehicle in the carpark underneath the venue. Carpark 2 and Carpark 3 are located closet to Exhibition Hall 2. The car park is very flat with no stairs to navigate. Lifts are conveniently located within all car parks. If you have a large entry, or multiple entries it's wise to bring a trolley with you. 

Before you leave please download the BCEC Location Map. It will show you where Exhibition Hall 2 and the carparks are allocated. 

We've organised a special discount QR Code for you to use. Please download it and read the instructions carefully. 

Drop Off Process


​When you arrive at Exhibition Hall 2, our friendly team of competition stewards will be there to meet you. You'll be asked to leave your cake on a special table while you complete the registration process. You'll then be issued with your complimentary three day show pass and asked to prepare your cake for the competition table. This will mean taking it out of any boxes or packaging

WE HAVE A GIFT FOR YOU! 

Our professional photographer MartyK will then take a professional photo of you with your entry. You've worked very hard, this our momento to thank you. After the show closes all the photographs will be loaded onto the ACADA website competition page for you to download. 

WHAT'S NEXT?

Once your photo has been taken you'll be asked to leave your entry on the competition holding tables, in the good care of our professional stewards. A final photo will be taken of your entry, the stewards will then  move your entry to the relevant competition tables and set it up for you.  

WHAT IF MY ENTRY GETS DAMAGED IN TRANSIT?

We understand mishaps do happen from time to time. If you're enry has been damaged in transit, we'll find a quiet place for you to sit and fix it. Pleae remember to bring an emergency kit with you.
A little royal icing will often do the trick. Don't forget to bring a some in an emergency piping bag. If this isn't strong enough to do the trick, our Judging Director Serdar Yener, will have some of his pre mixed pastillage available for you to use. In the event your entry can't be fixed, don't dispare! We'll give you a damaged in transit card to place with your entry. You will not be penalised for this.  

DON'T FORGET
​
All entries are required to have cleats attached to the base of your presentation board. A cleat can be a smaller base board glued under your cake or anything as simle as small pieces of timber glued underneath. Cleats are unseen and designed so your entry can be lifted with ease. 

WHAT IF I HAVE A LARGE EXHIBIT?

If you have a large entry that requires setting up we can organise this. If you're piece needs to be set up in it's final competition place you will be accompanied by one of our official stewards into the competition area. Drop-off day is an official show build day, therefore you will need to wear enclosed shoes and a high vis safety shirt or vest. Please remember to bring these with you. Anyone who enters the exhibition hall must comply with the strict build safety rules. If you don't have access to a high vis shirt, don't worry. There is a vendor machine immediately outside the venue where you can purchase a safety vest for $10.

Judging


Judging occurs on Thursday morning. Once judging is complete all certificates will be placed with the entries. These will be in place prior to the show opening to the public at 10am on Friday morning. The full list of results will be placed onto the ACADA website the week after the show closes. You will also find your official photos on the website at that time. 

A Message from ACADA's Judging Director

"Congratulations for entering the Ultimate Australian Cake & Cookie Decorating Competition. ACADA's International Cake Show Australia is the largest show of it's type in Australia, the competition is Australia's biggest and of an international standard.

We're really proud that you are entering.  This competition is about encouraging you to step outside your comfort zone, challenging yourself and giving it a go. It's all about competing against yourself, learning, growing and having fun!.

The entries you see in the competition (and at the show) will motivate and inspire you. They'll make you hungry to learn more! We have a world class team of judges, who judge at international cake competitions around the world. Their comments have one purpose, that is to help you grow.

If you've not competed previously, please don't worry. Our Chief Steward, and her friendly team are here to assist you and make you feel at ease.  Please read the competition schedule and rules carefully. Some rules have recently changed to ensure they are of an international standard and also to reflect the changes
​      within our industry over time.  I've put together some hints, tips and advice that I hope will help you.
