ABOUT THIS AWARD
The ACADA Australasian Cake Oscar Awards are the most coveted decorating awards within our industry. You're invited to nominate an individual you feel is worthy of receiving this very prestigious award. This award is a SUPREMO AWARD designed for the haute couture (luxury) wedding cake designer, whose statement cakes stand out well above the crowd
This particular award involves a challenge only the best within our industry would accept. It's a serious challenge that comes with significant rewards, however definitely isn't for the feint hearted!
PRIZE
The winner of this award will receive A$1,000 Cash Prize, be featured in leading wedding magazines, receive a trophy and most importantly they'll receive the much coveted title of ACADA Australasian Haute Couture Wedding Cake Designer of the Year.
This is the highest recognition a wedding cake designer can receive!
THE CHALLENGE
Once nominations and public voting have closed and finalists are selected, each finalist will be contacted. Theys must agree to accept a challenge that will involve stepping outside their comfort zone in order to proceed.
They must design and make a themed haute couture statement cake, that will be transported to International Cake Show Australia. The finalists statement cakes will be displayed in the 'Haute Couture Wedding Cake Designers' Marquee", which is dedicated to them.
The PUBLIC will vote at the show to select their favourite. The winner will be selected based on both public voting and the decision of ACADA's judging team, which comprises high profile wedding industry leaders and editors of leading Bridal Magazines.
2025 CHALLENGE SCENARIO / THEME
Design and make a couture statement cake
(minimum of 1 metre tall) for a high profile celebrity's Easter Wedding.
You must take inspiration and incorporate an element from the brides stunning gown
Colour is permitted!
THE BRIDE'S BRIEF
Capture the beauty of an element of the gown selected by an Australian multi-award winning wedding gown designer (photos will be supplied. The gown will also be exibited in the marquee.
Cakes can be tiered or sculptured.
The wedding reception will be packed full of media and celebrities. Finalists are encouraged to use their own unique style to design and create a magnificient cake that makes every guest say "WOW"
Design for style .... as if you're cake is going to be featured on the front cover of the world's leading Wedding magazines

NOMINATION & VOTING RULES
The work of the nominees we seek for this award, will be world class. Therefore the rules for this category have changed. ANYONE is eligible to nominate. NOMINEES can live anywhere in the world! However you are only allowed to submit ONE nomination per award category. Any duplicate nominations will be deleted.
NOMINATION CLOSING DATE
5pm on 5th January 2025
ANNOUNCEMENT OF NOMINEES & VOTING PROCESS
All nominees for this category will be announced publicly via the ACADA website. Nominee Badges will be available to download from the website once nominations close. Public voting for the EIGHT finalists will commence shortly afterwards.
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WINNER
The winner will be announced at the ACADA Australasian Cake Oscar Awards Gala Black-Tie Dinner at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) South Brisbane on Saturday 12th April, 2025.
